Las Vegas Raiders would be wise to bring in DJ Chark in free agency
DJ Chark can be a true deep threat for the Raiders
Once Henry Ruggs III was released following the terrible tragedy he was involved with during the season, the Raiders weren’t the same. Yes, Hunter Renfrow had an incredible run last season, but looking back, it was the run game that carried the Raiders into the postseason. DeSean Jackson never quite took off, as he essentially replaced Ruggs on the roster.
At 25 years of age, Chark is no DeSean. He has yet to enter his prime, which is scary.
What was missing late last season was an option that could stretch the field and take the top off of defenses. If Chark is healthy, there’s no reason to think he can’t go deep down the field and open things up for head coach Josh McDaniels. Opposing defensive coordinators will need to account for Renfrow and Darren Waller on every play, which leaves Chark with matchups where he can use his speed to make things happen for Carr.
