The Las Vegas Raiders are rumored to be making a run at Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark, and here are three reasons why they should do it.

One of the most coveted positions that the Raiders will focus on this offseason is wide receiver. Whether it’s via free agency or through the NFL draft, it’s assumed that the Silver and Black will make some additions. Here in the middle of the NFL Combine, news has dropped that the Raiders will be pursuing DJ Chark, in hopes of giving their receiving corps a much-needed boost.

The news comes as several top NFL receiving prospects impressed with their 40-yard run times this week. Regardless, Chark, who appears to be on his way out of Duval, would certainly provide an upgrade to an offense that’s lacking downfield breakaway speed.

Even if the Raiders were to acquire Chark, they’d still be hard-pressed to draft at least one receiver from this deep class. Perhaps the Chris Olave chatter comes to fruition considering he wants to be a Raider and has the speed that Al Davis would’ve fallen in love with.

Raider Nation is clamoring for Davante Adams, but the feeling here at the Combine has been that the star receiver isn’t going anywhere. Let’s face it, for those that understand how the NFL works, this was always a pipedream, regardless of whether Adams purchased property in Las Vegas.

Be that as it may, Chark is a nice consolation prize when you look at what he brings to the table. Chark will be looking to bounce back from what was a 2021 season riddled by a broken ankle injury. With a chip on his shoulder and a fresh start on a team that’s looking to return to the playoffs, Chark would flourish with Derek Carr throwing to him.
