Raiders fans should be excited about the possibility of DJ Chark

No. 3: Age and Mileage

In case it was glossed over early on, Chark is only 25 years old. On top of this, he’s only had a significant role in the Jaguars offense for three years. Going back even earlier, Chark only saw playing time in college for two years.

The tires have little wear on them, and as such his entire career is in front of him. The injury history is there, of course, but with Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow, there’s no reason for Chark to be force-fed like he was in Jacksonville.

In 2019, Chark had more targets than any other Jaguar by 17, even with him missing a game. In 2020, it was more of the same as he led Jacksonville in targets despite missing three games.

If Vegas adds another outside threat, which is something we can expect them to at least dipping their feet in, there’s no pressure on Chark whatsoever to be the ‘be all end all’ offensively as he was for the Jaguars.

Overall, this is a receiver who’s proven his worth in the NFL, shouldn’t be too pricey and [likely] has a ton of years ahead of him. Signing Chark would be an electric move that gives the Raiders a playmaker this offense needs, and possibly for years to come.
