No. 1: Playmaking Ability
If there’s one label that can be put on DJ Chark to summarize his game: Athletic freak.
It’s no secret the Las Vegas Raiders need a playmaker at the wide receiver position; Most notably on the outside. This is Chark’s specialty.
The former LSU star not only comes with a notable 6’4 height, but he also runs an official 4.34 40. In addition to his great height and speed, Chark possesses a great feel for space, especially against zone defense where he settles in cushions nicely.
The footwork has always been there for him and he consistently shows improvement in his route running.
The most important thing about Chark’s game isn’t that he has all the tools, but that he uses them and uses them well. This is why throughout his career he’s averaging 14 yards per catch.
Chark doesn’t only have a great frame and roadrunner speed, but he effectively uses both of these on the deep ball, where he’s a threat to go up and get passes.
The thing that jumps out at you is his ability to adjust and make a play on any type of pass.
Going up and hauling in those deep balls? Check. Footwork to make plays along the sidelines? Check. Locating the ball over his shoulder while using his frame to fight off defenders? Check. Taking a check down and making plays in the open field? Check.
