Raiders: 3 reasons adding Kyle Van Noy in free agency makes sense

New England released linebacker Kyle Van Noy, and here is why it makes sense for him to become a Las Vegas Raiders player.

As the combine ends, the NFL starts to see the first wave of players being cut throughout the league. One of these players is [former] New England Patriot, Kyle Van Noy.

Van Noy, 30, is coming off his second stint with the Patriots. After an impressive first stint in New England where the linebacker recorded 16.5 sacks, the Miami Dolphins would bring him in on a 5-year deal worth up to $51 million.

One of the biggest reasons for Van Noy going to Miami was former Patriots linebacker coach Brian Flores, who held the job of the team’s head coach. After a six-sack season which included a Defensive Player of the Week award, the Dolphins released him, shortly before his return to Foxborough.

The 2021 season was a pretty well-rounded one; Van Noy would record five sacks, 66 tackles, intercepted a ball (which he returned for a touchdown), and even get his hands on ten passes. Still, New England elected to part ways with the versatile linebacker.

As we enter the 2022 NFL free agency period, Vegas finds themselves in need of linebacker help, and Van Noy needs a new home – Potentially, a new home with familiar faces. Let’s break down some reasons why Van Noy heading to Las Vegas makes sense.
