The Dallas Cowboys announced the La’el Collins era is coming to an end. Should the Las Vegas Raiders enter the sweepstakes?

Shortly after trading away former Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper, the Dallas Cowboys let the rest of the NFL know they aren’t done with their fire sale. Right tackle La’el Collins is the next man up.

Entering the 2015 NFL draft, there was a lot of drama around Collins’ name. As a result, the 6’4 tackle watched his stock fall from the first-round to going all seven-rounds without hearing his name. Dallas signed Collins as an undrafted free agent shortly after, where the tackle has spent his entire career up to this point.

Since joining the team, Collins has maintained a starting role on the line.

In his rookie year, the 320lb lineman started 11 games from the left guard position. Following a sophomore year in which he was placed on the injured reserve list Week 3, Collins found a new home at the right tackle spot, where he’s started since. Now entering his eighth year, the team that he’s been with since the very beginning is looking to move on.

So far, four teams have been confirmed to reach out to Dallas regarding a trade; Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Miami, and Denver. However, The latest report suggests no deal was close to being done with any team, and as such Dallas will likely release the tackle.

Should the Raiders consider adding Collins? Let’s go over what the Dallas offensive lineman brings to the table for Las Vegas, as well as the negatives.
