Raiders: Revisiting the 2019 NFL Draft class and where they stand

Foster Moreau

Moreau’s situation is a curious one. Originally drafted by the Raiders with the vision of being the starting tight end, all of that came to an end when the team found out what they had in Darren Waller.

Still, the third of three 4th round picks has held his own. During the 2019 season, the tight end now behind Waller would catch 21 passes for 5 touchdowns and 14 first downs. There were only two times when Moreau caught a pass that didn’t end in either a first, or six.

As such, Derek Carr would post a 118.6 rating when targeting him, followed by a perfect passer rating when targeting him in 2020. All the while, Foster had no idea what a drop was, having 0 in his career up to this point.

Although learning what a drop was this past year, The LSU alumni was still quite reliable. In the six games without Waller, he was able to compile three 60+ yard games. Las Vegas was also 4-2 in these games.

Moreau has been about as consistent as the Raiders could’ve hoped when they drafted him in 2019.
