Available free agents the Raiders were in contact with or have confirmed interest in.

If you guessed the corner who Las Vegas pushed hard for in the later hours of yesterday was Stephon Gilmore, congratulations – The Raiders have been in extensive conversation with the Carolina corner, specifically after JC Jackson was off the boards.

Prior to the Raiders fully committing to Gilmore, it was reported three teams had an interest in the veteran corner: The New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and your Las Vegas Raiders.

Here’s the good news: Since this was reported, the Niners have signed former Chief Charvarius Ward to a three-year deal worth up to $40.5 million, and Jets appear to have prioritized safety Marcus Williams in the secondary.

While Las Vegas is fully committed and has been in extensive talks, no deal has been agreed upon between the two sides. Even still, it’s refreshing to see the Raiders take such high interest in the now best corner available.

Should Gilmore and the Raiders have a fallout, the Carolina cornerback isn’t the only corner on the Raiders’ radar. Former Ram Darious Williams is another name Las Vegas is keeping their eyes on.

Jackson and Gilmore aren’t the only players Las Vegas has negotiated with up to this point. The Raiders also spoke to wideout DJ Chark about suiting up in silver and black, although no deal was ultimately made. There has been confirmed significant interest in Chark for a while now, and seeing how Chark himself is currently in Vegas, it only makes to assume to he’s reciprocating some of that interest.

Just like Darious Williams to Gilmore, the Raiders also have a backup plan for Chark in the event things go south. There has been confirmed interest in Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who lead the league in yards per catch with 20.9 in 2020.

Not only has Vegas kept tabs on their biggest wants, JC aside, but there have also been some interesting developments with some of the players Raider Nation has been pounding the table for.
