No first-round drama in 2022
In the trade for Adams, the Silver and Black sent Green Bay their first and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. While that means they will not pick until selection No. 86 overall, that may not be a bad thing, especially with how good a player Adams is.
The truth is, this is a franchise that has swung and missed in the first round way too many times in recent memory, and while a new regime is in place, it takes the drama out of the first two rounds for Raider Nation. So, instead of bringing in a late-round rookie at pick No. 22 overall, the Silver and Black can rest knowing they have agreed with the best wide receiver in football.
This is not to say Ziegler and company would have swung and missed in the first round, but it does mean that there will be no relying on a rookie in a crucial spot in 2022. Las Vegas has done a nice job adding quality talent in trades and free agency already, and based on team needs, they can still get an impact player in the third round.
