No surprise here as much of the national media is being critical of the Las Vegas Raiders’ recent trade for Davante Adams.

The NFL world was rocked yesterday afternoon when the Silver and Black made their move and acquired the Green Bay Packers’ two-time All-Pro. This offseason, Adams and the Raiders were the subjects of endless hearsay and conjecture. After Aaron Rodgers opted to continue his career with the Packers, it was all but assumed that Adams would also follow suit after being on the receiving end of the franchise tag.

Alas, Adams made it clear he had no intentions of playing under the tag in 2022. With no official word really being put out from NFL insiders, most of Raider Nation was caught off guard as news broke out and spread like wildfire through social media and television.

The trade itself consists of the Packers receiving the 22nd and 53rd picks from Las Vegas in exchange for Adams’s services. As a result, the Raiders are signing Adams to a deal worth up to $141.25 million for five years, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

In effect, Adams becomes the highest-paid receiver in NFL history and, at the same time, gets to live out his dream of playing for the Raiders and will reunite with his college quarterback, Derek Carr.
