Raiders mock draft: Pick 164 – Coby Bryant, CB, Cincinnati

Another position that the Raiders need to focus on is cornerback. Even if the team signs Stephon Gilmore, putting off the position in the draft doesn’t make sense. Acquiring Rock Ya-Sin certainly helps, but Trayvon Mullen’s health is still a concern in the long term.

Losing Casey Hayward, last year’s best defensive back is no laughing matter. Graham will need as many quality defensive backs as he can get his hands on. Coby Bryant from Cincinnati would be a solid acquisition.

The 2021 Jim Thorpe Award winner would be an amazing pick-up if he were to fall on draft day. Some have him ranked as a high third-rounder, possibly a lower second-rounder, but that can always change. If he could be had with the 164th pick, the Raiders would be picking up a versatile corner that excelled in both man and zone versatility.

Since 2005, he is 24th all-time in pass deflections with 35 to his credit. While his speed and awareness allow him to shine in coverage, his below-average tackling skills leave a lot to be desired and will likely hurt his draft stock. Again, if these deficiencies cause him to fall to the Raiders, the Silver and Black should consider themselves lucky.
