Raiders: Ranking the pass rush duos in the AFC West
As the defending AFC West champs, the Kansas City Chiefs have a talented roster throughout. On the defensive line, the feature players are Frank Clark and Chris Jones. Clark was acquired from the Seahawks in a massive trade back in 2019 and has been a Pro Bowler every year since. His shining moment was a dominant 2019 playoff run where he had five sacks and ended it with a Super Bowl championship. However, he has not always been that player for KC.
With 18.5 sacks over three years and a 54.3 PFF grade in 2021, Clark has not always given the Chiefs what they need.
Chris Jones, however, is one of the best players in the NFL regardless of position. A mountain of a man at 6’6″ and 298 pounds, he is a dominant force on the interior of the Chiefs defense. His best season came back in 2018 when he had 15.5 sacks and since then he has been selected to three straight Pro Bowls. 2021 was no different as he posted nine sacks with a PFF grade of 82.8.
Kansas City’s pass-rushing duo has all the potential to be one of the best in the league. Of course, they will always be a handful when you have a player like Chris Jones. The ranking on this duo will depend almost entirely on the play of Clark. If he plays up to his potential, the Cheifs pass rush will be a force to be reckoned with.
