Potential Game Changer

One of the potential big names available is Odell Beckham Jr. In 2021, he had a strange season. Starting off with the Cleveland Browns, things quickly soured between him, the Browns front office, and even quarterback Baker Mayfield.

This led to a fiasco at the trade deadline with much discussion of whether a team would make a move. Eventually released, the Raiders were in the mix for his services but he eventually elected to sign with the Rams.

While there, he returned to the form he hadn’t displayed since his days as a New York Giant. With 305 yards and five touchdowns in seven regular-season starts, he had 288 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams playoff run that eventually culminated in a Super Bowl win. Unfortunately for “OBJ”, he suffered a torn ACL.

This marked his second ACL tear in less than eighteen months. Almost guaranteed to miss at least the first half of the season, Beckham is likely to prefer a one-year deal that would allow him to be a free agent again in 2023. Oddsmakers in Las Vegas think his next contract could be with the Raiders.
