Where do the Raiders rank in the AFC West after the Tyreek Hill trade?

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Narrowly missing out on the playoffs in 2021, the Chargers are loading up in an attempt to make sure that can’t happen again in 2022. These additions have come on the defensive side of the ball. First, they swung a trade with the Bears that netted them star pass rusher, Khalil Mack. Paired with Joey Bosa, they create the best pass-rushing duo in the NFL.

Then, they added one of the league’s best ballhawks in cornerback J.C. Jackson. Pairing him with young corner Asante Samuel can only be good for his development as well.

The reason the Chargers will be so good in 2022 is because of their young quarterback. A first-round pick in 2020, Justin Herbert has rapidly ascended to become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Blessed with unreal physical talent, his mental skills are just as impressive.

An MVP candidate every year, his supporting cast includes the newly re-signed Mike Williams, veteran Keenan Allen and stud running back Austin Ekeler.

Not only are the Chargers the best team in the AFC West, but they are also a legit contender to go to, and win the Super Bowl. The fastest way to build a contender is to have an elite quarterback on a rookie contract. The Chargers realize their window is now and, provided they stay healthy, they will be a tough out for any team that plays them.
