Notable positives for the Raiders to consider regarding Sean Rhyan

Rhyan attended the NFL combine this year and put on a solid display for scouts, though he opted not to perform the bench press.

  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.25
  • Vertical Jump: 33.5
  • Broad Jump: 110
  • 3 Cone Drill: 7.55
  • 20 Yard Shuttle: 4.81

As mentioned before, Rhyan’s physical traits are certainly noteworthy, as he retains a brawny, slightly burly frame. However, he’s thickly built with noticeable strength. One of his most important attributes is his hands. Rhyan consistently showed pop and excellent grip with those hands as he regularly moved around incoming defenders, shedding double teams with ease.

Rhyan’s lower body isn’t far behind either, as his core and leg strength are also superb on film.

The aforesaid leg strength also means that Rhyan has excellent abilities as an anchor, which again, might translate into becoming a guard. In fact, thanks in part to his footwork and ability to dissect plays, Rhyan could help the Raiders in the run blocking department, as he’s able to get into a defense’s second level and open up lanes. Pro Football Focus graded him 86.1 in that department last season.
