Raiders 2022 7-Round Mock Draft: Plenty of holes need to be addressed

The Las Vegas Raiders still have a few holes that need to be addressed after an interesting free agency period so far. 

Acquiring Davante Adams and Chandler Jones has put the Las Vegas Raiders squarely in the spotlight heading into the 2022 season. Despite these outstanding additions, there’s still plenty of work to be done throughout the roster.

Much of last year’s offensive line will be returning under new head coach Josh McDaniels and his offensive line coach, Mick Lombardi. Obviously, this new brain trust feels that this unit has tons of potential considering almost all of them are returning. Nevertheless, drafting a couple more offensive linemen would be a reasonable route to take. Competition makes everyone better, and the O-line is no exception. Except for the left tackle position, none of the positions should be set in stone, and any rookies who come in should be given a chance to compete during training camp.

The Raiders will also have a chance to really show off their draft knowledge in the fifth round by having back-to-back picks. The previous regime had some home run choices in this round with Nate Hobbs last year and with Foster Moreau and Hunter Renfrow in 2019. Two positions within the Raiders’ defense that still need help can be focused on in this round this year.

Las Vegas could still add a free agent or two to help round out what’s been a notable 2022 haul, but the draft will provide another much-needed youth infusion. Barring a trade, the Raiders won’t pick until the 86th selection, so with that said, let’s examine one conceivable scenario.
