Revised AFC QB rankings after all the free agency moves so far
After leading his team to the playoffs for the second time, Derek Carr finally got to play in a playoff game in 2021. While they would lose to the Bengals, Carr and the Raiders gave them all they could handle in a game that came down to the wire. This was the story in most of the Raiders’ wins last season as Carr added to his list of game-winning drives.
Throughout last season, no NFL quarterback had to deal with more than Derek Carr did. Despite losing his head coach and number one wide receiver mid-season, Carr still posted the highest yardage total of his career with 4,804 yards. In addition, he threw 23 touchdowns with fourteen interceptions.
While he may not be an elite quarterback like the guys ahead of him, the Raiders could certainly do much worse. In 2022, Derek Carr will have to endure another coaching change with Josh McDaniels coming to town. Also coming to Las Vegas is Davante Adams. One of the league’s best wide receivers, he and Carr have been teammates in the past which bodes well for their future. With improved talent at the wide receiver positions and offensive line, Carr can easily take the Raiders back to the playoffs next season.
