Raiders 2022 free agency: 3 depth signings that still make sense

The new regime has built a competitive roster this off-season, but there are still a few depth moves the team could make that could go a long way. 

Following a chaotic 2021 season, Las Vegas Raiders’ owner Mark Davis elected to turn a new page in the Silver and Black history books, bringing in a new head coach and general manager duo for the upcoming season. Since the pair’s arrival in Las Vegas, this duo pieced together an off-season that continues to bear fruit for the Raiders.

From coaching staff hires to grabbing players the two believe will better the team, the new regime has been masterful, often making it seem as if they’re incapable of making poor decisions.

Over the ’22 free agency period, the team has not only added two first-team All-Pros but has actively brought in scheme fits that solidified depth across the roster. They’ve also made sure to lock up their young All-Pro edge rusher, prioritizing Maxx Crosby’s extension.

While many of the moves made this off-season can be defined as great, it doesn’t mean there aren’t more steps the front office can take to continue the team’s growth.

The depth of most position groups has been addressed, this much is true. Furthermore, most of the position groups would be in good shape without additional signings. However, if a team can bring in a player that helps the team and is inexpensive, why wouldn’t they consider it?
