Las Vegas Raiders secondary suddenly has depth and star power
Who is new
After adding some elite players via the 2021 NFL Draft last year, the Raiders started building their talent via free agency and trades so far this offseason. The big move made within the secondary was with the Indianapolis Colts, as the Raiders traded away Yannick Ngakoue to the Colts for cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, a presumed starter.
In free agency, Las Vegas also added Duron Harmon, another guy who has a knack for the big play, as well as Anthony Averett, a solid starter for the Baltimore Ravens. Averett is going to push Mullen for a starting job this offseason and based on his history, he is going to get every opportunity to slide past Mullen on the depth chart.
Darius Phillips was signed to prove not only depth at cornerback but also as a special teams ace, so he is a guy who could be a sneaky, great signing. Overall, the talent is there to not only succeed on the field but there is also enough to see a lot of great position battles emerge this spring and summer.
