Raiders bolster defense in latest 7-Round Mock Draft
The Raiders would help themselves tremendously by getting one, maybe two, offensive linemen from this year’s crop. It’s one of the deepest and most talented in recent memory. Luke Tenuta in the fifth round would provide upside considering the draft slot.
The six-foot-eight, 319-pound behemoth has playing experience at both tackle positions, so his versatility could come in handy. Tenuta cannot be expected to contribute significantly in his rookie year as he needs refinement in his hand usage and overall strength.
Those deficiencies aside, Tenuta is a decent athlete who has enough size to make him a serviceable tackle, especially once his technique comes around. He certainly has a motor and plays with tenacity; even if you’re faster than Tenuta, you won’t outwork him.
Christian Darrisaw’s teammate before last season, Tenuta has some solid PFF grades going for him as well, particularly his 80.1 pass-blocking grade. For a Day 3 selection, the Raiders could certainly do worse.
