Ranking every starting quarterback in the NFL after 2022 Free Agency

Scouting Report. 52. Pick Analysis. QB . . Trevor Lawrence . 22. player

After entering the NFL with as much hype as any QB prospect ever has, Lawrence struggled from the very beginning of 2021. Of course, the disclaimer here is that he played for the 2021 Jacksonville Jaguars. Truthfully, there might not be a worse head coach for a rookie quarterback than Urban Meyer. While attempting to run his offense, Lawrence threw seven interceptions in his first three games.

Astonishingly, things did not get much better for him statistically going forward. From week nine to week sixteen Lawrence threw just one touchdown pass. Sandwiched in that stretch was a four-interception game against the Tennessee Titans that earned him a 35.5 QBR. He would finish 2021 with 3,641 yards, twelve touchdowns, and seventeen interceptions.

Simply having competent coaching around him should raise his level of play. Surrounding Lawrence with more NFL talent was the goal of Jacksonville’s off-season. While Christian Kirk and Zay Jones aren’t the most inspiring of names, it is a start and offers a slight upgrade to his receiving core. Despite his early struggles, expect Lawrence to improve drastically going forward.
