Ranking every starting quarterback in the NFL after 2022 Free Agency

. 15. Pick Analysis. QB. Jameis Winston. 19. player. Scouting Report

Since being drafted number one overall back in 2015, Jameis Winston has had one of the strangest careers in recent memory. after a 5,000 yard season in Tampa Bay, Winston was forced to accept a backup job behind Drew Brees in 2020. A peculiar situation for a guy who just led the league in passing yards, his propensity for interceptions had gotten so bad that he likely needed a year off.

Named the starter in 2021, Winston looked like a new quarterback. While the aggressiveness was still there, he appeared to be playing safer with the football. Through seven games he had 1,170 passing yards, fourteen touchdowns, and three interceptions. In addition, he led the Saints to a 5-2 record.

Unfortunately, he would suffer a season-ending injury after seven games. Recovering from his torn ACL, Winston re-signed with the Saints for another season. Likely to be their starter for at least 2022, Winston will get a chance to build off his successful 2021 season and prove that he is a franchise quarterback.
