Ranking every starting quarterback in the NFL after 2022 Free Agency

Scouting Report. . CarsonWentz. player. Pick Analysis. QB. 25. 58

One of the most volatile passers in the league, Carson Wentz stayed true to form in 2021. Unfortunately for Wentz, his season will always be remembered for the Colts’ late-season collapse that kept them out of the playoffs. Once considered the AFC’s scariest team, the Colts would lose stunningly to the Jaguars in Week 18 and be eliminated. In that game, Wentz had just 185 yards, one touchdown, and an interception.

Overall in 2021, the North Dakota State product produced a respectable stat line of 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He even had a 400 yard game against the Baltimore Ravens although it was in a losing effort.

After a trade to Washington, will we ever see Carson Wentz reach the highs of the 2019 season where he was a legitimate MVP candidate? Probably not. His propensity for meltdowns in big games is just too glaring to ignore.  As long as that trend persists, it will be hard for Washington to be a serious contender. He does a great job of keeping teams competitive, however.
