Raiders mock draft – Pick No. 227 – Brittain Brown, RB, UCLA
The Raiders need a nice change-of-pace running back to compliment Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake, not to mention that the futures of both of these contributors are currently unknown. UCLA’s Brittain Brown would have tons of upside, especially if he falls to the seventh round.
Standing at six-foot-one, Brown is a physically gifted player and has a noteworthy build and frame coming out of college. He’s not an every-down back at the moment and lacks explosiveness. However, what he does have is sufficient speed to be counted on, and can easily beat defenders running to the outside.
Despite lacking said explosives, once Brown is in the defense’s second level, he’ll rarely get caught and will get you ample yards after the catch.

Raiders: Could we see Las Vegas make a trade for James Bradberry?
At the start of free agency, the Raiders were linked to three high-profile cornerbacks. Now, just one remains, but are the Raiders still interested?
Brown has plenty of potential to become a dependable contributor to the Raiders, with a chance to get some playing time to keep Jacobs and Drake healthy down the stretch as well. He’s a hard runner and plays with a patient demeanor, waiting to strike at the right moment, and could become a red zone option or in short-yardage situations as well.
