Raiders: Could we see Las Vegas make a trade for James Bradberry?
What Bradberry brings to the Las Vegas Raiders.
After a 2019 season where he allowed an opposing quarterback rating of 70.1, James Bradberry entered the free agent market as a hot target. From there, the 26 year-old signed a three-year deal with the New York Giants, worth up to $45.5m total.
Just one season after signing that three-year deal, Bradberry made the Pro Bowl. To make this music sweeter for Raider Nation, that Pro Bowl appearance was with the now Raiders’ defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. Graham also worked with Bradberry in 2021, prior to taking on the role of defensive coordinator in Las Vegas.
In Bradberry’s two seasons of working with Graham, he’s tallied 7 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and an astonishing 35 pass breakups. The 6’1 corner also flashed versatility as a Panther before becoming a free agent, posting 3 sacks in his first four seasons.
Bradberry has excellent ball skills, recording 13.6 broken-up passes per season since entering the NFL. He also recorded 4 interceptions last year, which was a mere two-less than the entirety of the Las Vegas Raiders’ defense through all 18 weeks. Add the fact that he’s familiar with the Raiders’ new defensive coordinator and has had success being coached by Graham, and this fit certainly makes sense.
So, is James Bradberry in the cards for the Las Vegas Raiders? Let’s break down what we know.
