Could the Las Vegas Raiders really trade Darren Waller?

Waller becomes a star

In 2020 the Raiders got a massive return on their investment as Waller turned in one of the most productive receiving seasons in the history of the franchise. With 107 catches, 1,196 yards, and nine touchdowns he earned himself a Pro Bowl nod.

After a 2021 season where he suffered through injuries, the new Raiders front office made it a mission to acquire more top-end talent for quarterback Derek Carr. They swung big and hit a home run in the form of Davante Adams. While they did add the NFL’s best receiver, it cost them both their first and second-round picks in April’s draft.

That means Las Vegas will not pick in the 2022 NFL Draft until pick No. 86 overall in the third round. While the team has bolstered its roster in a big way this offseason, issues still remain, and that could mean they are in the market to trade up this weekend.

If Vegas wished to recoup some of those picks, could they trade their star-tight end?
