Raiders 2022 Mock Draft: Las Vegas goes on the defensive early

player. 28. . Offensive Lineman. Las Vegas Raiders. Chris Paul. 164

The Raiders know they need offensive line help and they may not wait until the fifth round to address the position group but in this mock draft that’s how the cookie crumbled. The right side of the offensive line was especially poor as Alex Leatherwood struggled at both tackle and guard and Brandon Parker was a turnstile at right tackle. Jermaine Eluemunor seemed to play better than Parker but perhaps the history Parker had with Tom Cable kept him in the starting lineup.

The return of Denzelle Good from an ACL injury should help along with the experience that Leatherwood picked up but depth is a need and Chris Paul out of Tulsa can help immediately in that regard. Besides sharing a name with a future NBA hall of famer, Paul has built up his own career with some impressive play at Tulsa as a four year starter and projects well at the NFL level.

Paul played right tackle at Tulsa in his senior year but has also played at both guard spots and left tackle in limited duty. He projects as a guard at the NFL level and his versatility could allow him to back up both Leatherwood and John Simpson at either spot next to center Andre James.

The 24-year-old has great measurables at 6’4”, 323lbs and showed off his athleticism with a 4.89 40 yard dash and a 4.83 in the 20 yard shuttle. He is far from an elite prospect or athlete but has some characteristics that could intrigue the Raiders as an interior offensive lineman. The versatility of playing several positions could help him find a home with Las Vegas could become a starter if he develops properly.
