The Las Vegas Raiders finished out their 2022 NFL Draft with their second running back of Day 3, selecting UCLA star Brittain Brown at pick No. 250 overall.

The 2022 NFL Draft for the Las Vegas Raiders came to a close at pick No. 250, as the team had their final selection of the three-day event. It has been a very exciting couple of days for Raider Nation, as the team did not have a pick on Thursday, before getting to work late on Day 2 with a third-round pick.

Now, the haul is complete, and the final selection of the weekend for Las Vegas was their second running back of this year’s draft class. The pick at No. 250 overall was UCLA star Brittain Brown, who joins a loaded running back room in Las Vegas looking to make a name for himself as a rookie.

While running back was certainly not an area I thought they would go to twice during this draft, or even once, Brown is a quality running back that should get a long look this offseason as the team tries to narrow the roster down before Week 1.

Raiders go to the well for a running back twice on Day 3

When the team went for Zamir White in the fourth-round, it was seen as a guy who could possibly take over for Josh Jacobs if the team decided to not retain him after the season. However, the selection of Brown seems like overkill, as it is going to be very hard for him to carve out a place on this depth chart.

While I hope that Brown has an elite NFL career, the team could have used this pick on possibly a linebacker or even a defensive back.

Last year’s seventh round pick, Jeremy Morrissey, did not even make the roster out of camp, so there is not a ton of expectation when a player is picked this late. The Silver and Black have a very deep running back room going into spring and summer practices, but in the end, Brown will likely be the odd man out.
