Raiders 2022 NFL Draft Grades: AFC West Winners and Losers

Kansas City Chiefs

After trading away Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, the Kansas City Chiefs had four selections in the top 62 in this year’s draft, and they made the most of the opportunity. For a team that fell a field goal short in overtime in the AFC Championship game, Kansas City leveraged their picks to reload on offense and address necessary holes on the defensive side of the ball.

Trent McDuffie (CB) out of Washington feels a vital need at the corner and Skyy Moore (WR) gives Patrick Mahomes another target in the Chiefs’ high-powered offense, which they’ll undoubtedly need as Tyreek Hill’s absence will surely be felt. Leo Chenal (LB) is a stout linebacker who can help Kansas City’s woes in defending the run.

For a team that found itself in the AFC Championship Game for the fourth straight season, the goal with the draft was not to rebuild, but rather to reload. With four selections in the first two rounds, the Chiefs effectively reloaded in what will be an AFC West that is now more competitive than ever.

Outcome: Winner
