Raiders free agent target – Anthony Barr, LB

2021 Key Stats

  • 72 Combined Tackles
  • 3 Sacks

The linebacker group has gone largely unaddressed, with the biggest development being that Cory Littleton is going to get cut. No linebackers were drafted, nor were there any major additions. Chandler Jones is more of an edge rusher than a true linebacker, but schematically, he is a great fit under Graham.

Anthony Barr, like Jones, could come in and also boost the Raiders’ pass rush. He’s posted a 72.3 pass rush grade per PFF, having been blitzed 64 times or more each season since 2018. His coverage skills are concerning, especially last season when he was often on highlight reels getting run over. Are Barr’s deficiencies in coverage enough to cancel out what he can do as far as pass rushing? Only the Raiders would know the answer to that.
