Raiders: Records Derek Carr can shatter during the 2022 NFL season
No. 1: Single-Season Touchdown Record
Last month, the Raiders franchise suffered a significant loss, a former star quarterback Daryle Lamonica died at the age of 80. A legendary quarterback for the Raiders franchise, Lamonica led the Raiders to four straight Western Division titles and put together numbers the team had never seen before.
One huge number was 34 touchdown passes, a mark he set back in 1969, his third season as the starter for the Raiders. That mark still stands as the most a quarterback has thrown in a season in franchise history, but it is also a number Carr should have his sights set on, especially with so many elite weapons on the outside this season.
To date, Carr has thrown for 30-or-more touchdowns only once in a season, his second year in 2015, where he tossed 32. The second-most he ever had in a season came the following year when he threw for 28 but was injured late in the season with the Raiders looking like a Super Bowl contender.
In 2022, this is a record that could fall.
