Raiders: Records Derek Carr can shatter during the 2022 NFL season
No. 2: Single-Season Passing Yards per Game
The 2002 season for Rich Gannon was a special one, as he not only led the Raiders to the Super Bowl but took home the only Most Valuable Player award of his career. It was his last elite season with the Silver and Black, as injuries riddled him the rest of the way, but it was also his fourth in a row where he proved to be the best quarterback in football.
During that 2002 campaign, Gannon set the Raiders record for passing yards per game in a season, as he threw for over 293 yards per game. The closest anyone has ever gotten to that mark was Carr last season, where he averaged 282.6 yards per game and set the franchise single-season passing yards mark.
With Davante Adams in the fold, Hunter Renfrow with another year of experience, and Darren Waller being one of the best tight ends in the NFL, Carr has a legitimate shot to shatter this record. If he does so, he would be the first Raiders quarterback to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season as well, as he continues to re-write the record book.
