Las Vegas Raiders: 53-man roster projection post-2022 NFL Draft

Safety (5): Tre’Von Moehrig, Johnathan Abram, Tyree Gillespie, Duron Harmon, Dallin Leavitt

The Safety spot got a huge boost this past season, as second-round pick Tre’Von Moehrig entered the NFL and was actually better than expected. Las Vegas traded up for the former TCU star, and he did not disappoint, becoming one of the better defensive rookies in the NFL, and leading a position group with plenty of question marks.

Going into 2022, questions remain in terms of Johnathan Abram, another one of the three 2019 first-round picks that have not lived up to his draft stock. Abram has the talent to be an excellent player but is wildly inconsistent, something that will hopefully change with a new defensive coordinator in Las Vegas.

I believe Tyree Gillespie will make the 53-man roster, and Duron Harmon is someone who could challenge for a starting job if Abram does not impress this summer. We cannot create a 53-man roster without Dallin Leavitt, who signed a new deal this offseason, and somehow always make the Week 1 roster coming out of camp.

Total Roster Number: 50
