Raiders 2022 schedule release: Predicting the outcome of all 17 games
By Brad Weiss
Week 16: at Pittsburgh Steelers (Christmas Eve)
Almost 50 years to the day of a non-catch that went down in NFL history, better known as the “Immaculate Reception,” the Raiders will once again travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. The Steelers will be in a bit of a rebuild this season, as Ben Roethlisberger has retired, and there will be a battle at quarterback between Mitchell Trubisky and rookie Kenny Pickett.
Neither player will be good enough to beat the Raiders this late in the season, even at home, as Las Vegas avenges the loss to the Steelers nearly 50 years ago. The win puts the Raiders back in legitimate playoff contention, and for the Steelers, ruins their Christmas Eve.
With ten wins, the Raiders have won double-digit games for the first time in 20 years and should be one win away from clinching at least a Wild Card spot. This is a game to certainly circle on the calendar, as it has so much history, and could end up going down to the wire, but for the second year in a row, the Raiders win in Pittsburgh.
Record: 10-5, 3-2 in AFC West
