The AFC West will once again be one of the toughest divisions in football. It’s no wonder that they’ll be featured heavily in prime time this season. The teams themselves are stacked with young talent from top to bottom, and the Las Vegas Raiders are no exception to this.

Pro Football Focus just put out their “Top 25 Under 25” list, which has several young players who will be important to the West for many years to come. It really shouldn’t surprise anyone that of the 25 players, the division is home to five of them; all of them being under the top 16 speaks volumes too.

Even those that didn’t make the cut for PFF deserve some merit too. Look at the Raiders. For example, Foster Moreau, Josh Jacobs, Trayvon Mullen, Nate Hobbs, and Trevon Moehrig also fit the under-25 mold. It might only be a matter of a year or two before some of these Raiders crack that prestigious list.

All of the teams within the division are loaded with young talent, and it’s quite plausible that PFF’s list will feature many more players from the West in the next few years. The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the most promising cornerbacks in the NFL in Asante Samuel, Jr.

The Denver Broncos aren’t behind either, with a stud defensive back of their own in Patrick Surtain II (spoilers). Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs, with players such as L’Jarius Sneed and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, also have a young core.

Let’s take a closer look at the players that made the cut this season, though.
