Raiders: Question for each offensive position group entering 2022 summer
Offensive Line: Can Leatherwood have Kolton Miller-like Year 2?
When it comes to the Raiders offense, the big question comes at the right tackle spot, where Alex Leatherwood will likely get another chance to start. Leatherwood was a first-round pick of the Raiders in 2021 and was given the starting job right away in the hopes that he and Kolten Miller would be the best young offensive tandem in the NFL.
Well, that certainly did not work out, and much like Miller did during his rookie season, Leatherwood struggled from the get-go. It got so bad that he eventually was kicked inside, something the Raiders cannot afford to happen this offseason, especially after not doing much in terms of the position group in free agency or the draft.
A recent video of Leatherwood working out shows a guy who looks ready to play, and someone who has slimmed down a bit. That could help him in terms of his footwork entering Year 2 because if he cannot get the job done, the Raiders could be using another first-round pick on the position group shortly.
