Raiders: Question for each defensive position group entering the 2022 summer
Cornerback: Will Trayvon Mullen emerge as a legitimate CB1?
The Las Vegas Raiders did a nice job addressing the cornerback group this offseason, bringing in Rock Ya-Sin from the Indianapolis Colts via a trade. Last year, they added an elite slot corner via the 2021 NFL Draft, getting Nate Hobbs as a steal in the fifth round.
Now, they go into the summer months with more talent at the position than they had last year, but questions still remain. The biggest of them all is Trayvon Mullen, who has flashed signs of being a legitimate CB1 throughout his career but has yet to stay consistent, and healthy across his first three seasons.
In 2022, there is a lot more talent around him, and he will not only be pushed to be the CB1 on this roster but will be pushed to even be a starter. Rock Ya-Sin is a proven player at the NFL level, Nate Hobbs is locked in as the slot corner, and Anthony Averett is a guy who could come in and start for this team as well.
