Las Vegas dealt Bryan Edwards to Atlanta for a fifth-round draft pick; How does that affect the battle for who emerges behind Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow?

Heading into this year’s free agency, the wideout position was perhaps the biggest eyesore of the Las Vegas Raiders. One Davante Adams trade later, and the outside receivers for the Silver and Black look like a strength. Add depth players such as Demarcus Robinson, Mack Hollins, and Keelan Cole, and things are looking better on the outside than they have in a long while.

In fact, the group is so good looking [on paper], general manager Dave Ziegler had no problem shipping the projected No. 2 outside WR, Bryan Edwards, off to Atlanta for a fifth-round draft pick.

With Edwards gone, the fight for the second starting job on the outside begins – But did Edwards ever have the starting role locked up? While most people believe the Raiders moving on from Edwards is an indication the team is in the market for a wideout, I disagree.

What could be the reason for trading Edwards, and what does Las Vegas have up its sleeves? Let’s dive into this a little deeper, as I give some insight into the Raiders’ wide receiver room. We’ll discuss what I believe the Silver and Black are planning after the trade, and later, touch on who will replace the South Carolina alum.

We know Hunter Renfrow will be the slot guy, and the No. 2 option at WR behind Adams, but where do the Raiders go from there?
