Raiders: Why Derek Carr could be the 2022 NFL MVP

The Numbers

As stated earlier, the Raiders got tremendous play from Carr last season, as he threw for over 4,800 yards despite a lack of weapons. In 2022, the numbers could be video game-like at times, as he and best friend Davante Adams could connect for 15-plus touchdowns alone.

Carr not only throws for a ton of yards, but he also completes passes at an incredible percentage and had some big plays last season. He is going to put together highlight-reel games at times in 2022, and with the extra game, cracking 5,000 yards, and possibly breaking Daryle Lamonica’s single-season touchdown record is a real possibility.

Statistics will not mean anything if the Raiders do not take care of business in the win column. In 2016, they not only were getting elite play from Carr, but they were stacking wins, which put them as a national media darling and put No. 4 in the spotlight.

The same has to be true in 2022.
