Raiders potential surprise cut – Amik Robertson, CB

Things haven’t gone well for the Raiders’ fourth-round draft pick from 2020. Back at Louisiana Tech, Amik Robertson played outside on the boundary, but coming into the NFL, it was understood he was too small at five-foot-eight.

Instead, team brass at that time opted to draft him to play him in the slot.

Robertson never quite lived up to expectations and played hardly any snaps. In fact, he’s totaled 172 in the last two years. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on. Robertson was buried on last year’s depth chart, and with Nate Hobbs now the foreseeable long-term answer in the slot, he might not make it to the 2022 regular season.

The Raiders would save nearly $771K if they moved on this year. With all the talent the team brought in at the position group, Robertson could be the odd man out this summer.
