Raiders potential surprise cut – Jacob Hollister, TE

The Silver and Black’s top two tight end positions are set. Darren Waller and Foster Moreau will have the opportunity to become a special duo under Josh McDaniels. That means that the third spot will be up for grabs during camp. The question is, can Jacob Hollister win that position?

Both Waller and Moreau bring a special set of skills to the table. Hollister, on the other hand, has experience playing under McDaniels. Going up against Hollister is Nick Bowers, a young athletic tight end that possesses more size and, of course, more upside. Hollister could be on the outside looking in when it’s all said and done.

Raiders potential surprise cut – Clelin Ferrell, DE/OLB

This one may come as a surprise given how excited Clelin Ferrell appeared to be recently in an interview. A move to outside linebacker might end up saving Ferrell’s career unless the Raiders bring in another pass rusher with versatility. Carlos Dunlap comes to mind.

The difference between Ferrell and the others listed is that he might still carry some value in a potential trade. Ferrell could feasibly be seen as a scheme fit for another squad, maybe one in need of a run stopper inside. The Raiders have a new coaching staff in place, so last year’s snaps don’t really figure into 2022. Patrick Graham might simply not be able to find a place for him.
