The Raiders’ front office has expressed their interest in Ndamukong Suh. What lead them to be impressed by the 313lb defensive lineman?

Over the off-season, the Las Vegas Raiders have made multiple moves to ensure depth at the interior of the defensive line. Between bringing in Bilal Nichols during the first wave of free agency, re-signing run-stuffer Johnathan Hankins, and grabbing versatile defensive lineman Vernon Butler, reliable defensive tackles seem to be coming in left and right.

If the free-agent signings weren’t enough, Las Vegas added two defensive tackles in the 2022 NFL Draft, continuing to solidify the defensive line with Neil Farrell Jr and Matthew Butler. With all of these additions, it sounds like the journey to add talent up front defensively isn’t done yet.

Over this last week, the Raiders’ interest in Ndamukong Suh was made public, with the interest being very real.

Initially, it was reported three teams were in on the Suh sweepstakes: The Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and your Las Vegas Raiders. On Tuesday, two significant events among the three reported teams – Cleveland announced they were out, and the Buccaneers signed defensive tackle Akiem Hicks to a 1y, $10m deal.

The only team left now? The Raiders.

Las Vegas has made sure the defensive tackle unit was rebuilt by adding a deep group of talent, but their interest in Suh remains strong. Why? Let’s talk about three reasons the Raiders are excited about potentially adding Suh to the roster, and why Raider Nation should be as well.
