Raiders: 5 toughest matchups of the 2022 regular season

Week 11 at Broncos

The Raiders have actually won back-to-back trips to Mile High, but over the last 10 trips, they are also 3-7. So, I’m not ready to ditch the narrative that the Raiders have figured out how to win in Denver consistently, especially now that the Broncos roster has the best quarterback they’ve had since Peyton Manning.

Mile High is still a super tough place to play, it will certainly be enhanced in toughness come Week 11, and Russell Wilson at the quarterback position will up the difficulty for the Raiders tenfold.

I’m saying this, of course, assuming Wilson is going to at least have this Broncos team in the playoff hunt, as should be the case……on paper.

I think there’s a fair chance this Broncos team turns out to be one of the bigger flops of the year with all the hype now behind them.

Russell Wilson is still a stud quarterback despite his challenging 2021 campaign, but at its core, the Broncos are still a very young team with a lot of unproven potential at the NFL level.

We know the potential of Bradley Chubb, Justin Simmons, Pat Surtain, Courtland Sutton, and Jerry Jeudy. But we have yet to see them play in a system under a quarterback who’s more than ready to win now.

Up until this point, the Broncos have been a bad team with a lot of nice pieces that may or may not surprise us any given year.

Now they’re expected to do well. That kind of pressure has not been applied to this roster until this very moment, so I can’t help but think there could be a huge letdown on the horizon for the Denver Broncos.

If they can hold their own, I’d say this Week 11 matchup is going to be almost a sure loss for the Raiders. But if they revert back to the Broncos I’ve grown to know the past five years, I’d say the Raiders have a really good chance of making it three-straight victories at Mile High.
