Ereck Flowers

The Raiders were unable or unwilling to make significant additions to their offensive line this offseason with only the return of Brandon Parker and the drafting of Dylan Parham being the major transactions. However, the Raiders offensive line still feels one starter short. Kolton Miller, Andre James, and Denzelle Good seem lined up to be starters while Alex Leatherwood and Parker battle for the right tackle job.

Parker’s contract ($3.5 million) and Leatherwood’s 1st round draft status likely means the Raiders are committed to those two at that position while John Simpson, Jermaine Elumenor, Parham and Leatherwood would battle for the other guard spot.

Despite the raw talent the team has amongst its inexperienced players, the Raiders need a starting quality offensive lineman considering they are a win-now team. Ereck Flowers struggled early in his career as a highly drafted tackle, but has transitioned to being a quality guard who can hold down the interior.

At this point, Flowers can likely be brought in on a small contract to compete and worst case, becomes a versatile backup. Flowers has also been available, a problem the Raiders have had with their offensive line in recent years. Flowers would allow the Raiders to develop more talent on their practice squad and still have valuable depth on the 53 man roster.
