Raiders: What to expect in Year 2 for the 2021 NFL Draft picks
Tre’Von Moehrig
One of the better young players we have seen in quite some time is Tre’Von Moehrig, who stepped into a starting role as a rookie and exceeded all expectations. The Raiders traded up for Moehrig in the 2021 NFL Draft, and from Day 1, it was clear that he would start right away, and be a legitimate player at the NFL level.
Now, entering Year 2, the goals have changed for Moehrig, as he is going to be expected to be a leader in the defensive backfield. Playing in a very tough AFC West, the Raiders’ secondary is going to be put to the test every weekend, and it is players like Moehrig that are going to make-or-break their season back there.
Moehrig has the talent to be one of the best safeties in the NFL, and in Year 2, I believe he is going to make the jump and become a Pro Bowl player. Being an All-Pro is not out of the realm of possibility either, but for now, we will lower expectations and say that Pro Bowl is likely, and All-Pro is a best-case scenario.
Projection: Starting Safety, Pro Bowl
