Raiders: What to expect in Year 2 for the 2021 NFL Draft picks

Divine Deablo

Looking at the Raiders’ defense going into the 2022 NFL season, we are going to see a significant shift in the scheme. Patrick Graham likes to run a 3-4 base defense, which puts an emphasis on the Raiders having more depth at the linebacker position than they have had in recent memory.

One of the more exciting Year 2 players to keep an eye on this summer is Divine Deablo, a former safety from Virginia Tech who was named first-team All-ACC during his time with the Hokies. Deablo made the switch to outside linebacker at the pro level, and during his brief time on the field, flashed that he could be a special player for the Raiders.

Now, entering Year 2, the hope is that Deablo will take the next step forward, as he is going to get every chance this summer to earn a starting job. I believe he has the size, speed, and ability to lock down one of the outside linebacker spots, and should be on the radar as a potential breakout player for Las Vegas.
