5 Las Vegas Raiders that have to improve during the 2022 offseason
John Simpson
During the 2020 NFL Draft, Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden continued their run on adding Clemson players, bringing in John Simpson in the fourth round. One of the premier interior offensive linemen in the country, Simpson was a two-time national champion with the Tigers and has seen extensive playing time in his two seasons in the league.
Now, Simpson will be expected to challenge for a starting job in Year 3, and the Raiders certainly need someone to step up and man one of the starting guard positions. The offensive line is the biggest question mark on this Raiders roster this season, and Simpson is a young player who could be a long-term solution.
Simpson has played well at times for the Raiders and has the size and strength to be a force along this offensive line for years to come. With a new regime in place, everyone is on even ground, and for Simpson, that is a best-case scenario this summer.
