The Las Vegas Raiders are in a good spot when it comes to the quarterback position, but apparently, the group is not a top-10 unit.

The Las Vegas Raiders finally put to rest all of the noise surrounding quarterback Derek Carr this offseason, inking him to an extension that will keep him in Sin City through the 2025 season. Las Vegas also added his best friend, and current elite NFL wide receiver, Davante Adams via trade, giving Carr the WR1 he has been lacking.

Now, the attention turns to the 2022 NFL season, a season in which the Raiders will be looking to make it to the playoffs for the second straight year. For a franchise that has not accomplished that feat in 20 years, it makes for an exciting 2022 campaign, one where Carr will have to continue to prove he is the right guy to lead this group under center.

When it comes to the quarterback position, you could do a lot worse than No. 4, who has broken nearly every Raiders career passing record during his eight years as the starter. However, despite his successes, the wins have been few and far between, something that will hopefully change with Josh McDaniels as head coach.

Raiders land at No. 13 by Bleacher Report

Recently, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report put out his ranking of all 32 NFL teams’ situations at quarterback heading into the 2022 NFL season. For Carr and the Silver and Black, they were ranked outside of the top-10, coming in at No. 13 overall, a bit low if you asked me.

In fact, one could argue the Raiders should have been a top-10 unit in terms of the position group, as Las Vegas fell behind the likes of Cleveland and Dallas. Both of those groups are solid, but we do not know how the Deshaun Watson stuff will play out with the Browns, and Dak Prescott is on a level playing field as Carr.

Of course, these kinds of rankings do not mean much, and for the Silver and Black, committing to Carr was the right move, especially with Adams joining the fold. These two have been trying to play together for five years now, and finally, we will see what the elite Fresno State duo can do at the NFL level.
