Las Vegas Raiders: What to expect from QB Derek Carr in 2022

What’s different?

For the first time since being drafted by the Raiders in 2014, Derek Carr finally has a true WR1 in his best friend and college teammate, Davante Adams. Adams, who is in the eighth year of his career has proven year in and year out that he’s one of the top wide receivers in the National Football League, and he joins an offensive roster that when healthy, can compete and intimidate the staunchest defenses.

The chemistry that Carr and Adams bring allows Carr to open up a lot of creative opportunities and will also allow Carr to play more aggressively than he has in the past as he is keen on Adams’s ability and tendencies. Not to be forgotten is Carr’s safety blanket in Hunter Renfrow, a fan favorite since being drafted by the Raiders in 2019, Renfrow has developed into one of the best route runners in the league.

Renfrow’s clutch ability has earned him the deserved moniker “3rd and Renfrow” for the many third-down conversions he has accumulated over the years. Renfrow and Carr have developed a strong relationship on the field where Carr trusts his receiver to make a play and Renfrow’s grit and playground-like ability make him hard to defend.

Not to be forgotten that Raiders’ new head coach, Josh McDaniels could teach a master class on how to develop Hall of Fame level slot talent, fans should surely be excited about the continued growth of Renfrow under McDaniels.
