Raiders: Why Derek Carr will silence his critics in 2022

Reunited and it feels so good!

The Raiders really needed a true number one receiver for Carr to find for deep plays downfield. Renfrow is a great slot receiver and Waller is just a tight end. They could benefit from McDaniels’ system as well, but the Raiders needed a veteran receiver. They found one in Davante Adams.

Of course, Adams came at a high price, the Raiders sent a few draft picks including this year’s first-round draft pick to Green Bay for Adams. So far it was worth it as Adams is coming off a career-high in receptions and receiving yards for the Packers.

In addition, Adams and Carr have a history together, they were teammates in college at Fresno State where they hooked up 233 times for 3,031 yards and 38 scores in two years. The Raiders could use some of that.

The Raiders lucked out by getting a veteran who already has a rapport with their quarterback. They should be one of the best quarterback-receiver tandems in the NFL.
